Richard received his Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Washington State University. He has worked with children in the foster system, adolescents with developmental disabilities, and adults in community mental health. He is currently a counseling intern working towards obtaining a Graduate degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Western Seminary.
I have been volunteering in church ministries for over a decade. In Summer camps, I have taught in both children and adolescent ministries. I have also participated in various music programs. I am currently on staff at Church of Grace in Portland, Oregon.
I have provided counseling to young, middle aged, and older adults dealing with various mental health conditions. I have a passion for and currently counsel individuals struggling with addictions and those with severe mental illness. I operate from a Cognitive Behavioral and Existential approach to help create a healing relationship with my clients. My hope is to help each individual obtain the necessary life skills to live a fulfilled and meaningful life. My areas of focus are ANXIETY, SEXUAL ADDICTIONS, DEPRESSION, RELATIONAL ISSUES, LIFE TRANSITIONS, and PERSONAL GROWTH.
