Ministry Experience:
Taylor grew up as a Pastor's kid and knows firsthand what it's like to carry the weight of identity and behavioral expectations. Through his personal and professional development, he has used his ministry experiences to shape his passion and work. Taylor has always been very involved in leadership and volunteering within the church. In his time as a Families and Youth Pastor, Taylor helped others with complex issues related to marriage, parenting, and child development. He is also experienced in leading short term mission trips.
Counseling Approach:
Taylor takes a client-centered approach while utilizing evidence-based practices including but not limited to Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). Taylor believes that each person is doing the best they can with what they have. He compassionately recognizes the human need to slow down and take intentional measures to honestly evaluate what is needed to improve. Taylor is also passionate about working with children and parents through the use of Play Therapy and Theraplay. He knows that being a kid in our current time is way harder than it should be, and that learning to communicate these difficulties requires patience and skill. Taylor believes that children can use play to help communicate the thoughts and feelings that they don't yet have the vocabulary to verbally express.
