Professional Experience

Jill spent years working in the coffee industry and greatly enjoyed connecting with people over the ups, downs, and ordinary times of life. Eventually she decided she wanted to be able to offer people more than just a cup of coffee; she wanted to sit with them in good times and bad, walking alongside them as they navigated their lives. Recently, she interned at A New Day Counseling Center where she enjoyed working with women from a variety of backgrounds and differing life stressors or struggles.

Counseling Approach

Most people experience some seasons where they need someone to come alongside them as they grieve, recover, heal, or grow mentally, emotionally, and/or relationally. For many, therapy is a good place to find this kind of help and support.

I think the best therapy happens in a good therapeutic relationship - one built on trust, authenticity, and collaboration. As a therapist, I seek to work with clients to set goals and facilitate change. I believe everyone is capable of growth and change in their own lives. My approach is based on unconditional positive regard and empathy, with an emphasis on identifying and highlighting client strengths and resilience. I draw on techniques from CBT, ACT, Strengths-based, and Narrative therapies as appropriate to help clients in their own unique experiences. I strive to bring a holistic, hopeful, compassionate, and kind presence to therapy.
