Counseling approach:
Counseling can be a tremendously beneficial place for individuals to grow mentally, emotionally, spiritually, and socially. Everyone has their own unique story; and counseling can be a helpful space to navigate, understand, and process the pieces of that story. Scripture tells us to rejoice with those who rejoice and mourn with those who mourn (Romans 12:15). My goal is to create a counseling space where you can come as you are, whether you are rejoicing or mourning, or anywhere in between.
Through openness, genuineness, and encouragement I will walk alongside you as you do the challenging and worthwhile work of self-reflection and growth, encouraging you with tools and techniques as I come alongside you on this journey. I employ several counseling techniques in my practice including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (focusing on how thoughts, feeling, and behaviors influence one another) and a variety of therapies from the Psychodynamic perspective (focusing on how early life experiences shape who we are today).
Ministry Experience:
I have had the privilege of serving in a variety of ministry roles on and off throughout the last 13 years, primarily with children and youth in church settings and camp settings. It has been a tremendous joy of mine to walk alongside children and teens as they ask some of life’s biggest questions.
