Ministry Experience:
Catalina has been serving in ministry since 2022 and currently volunteers with youth (ages 11-18) in both church and camp settings. She is a leader for a girls' small group at her church, and serves in a variety of other ways such as worship team, tech team, and other behind-the-scenes aspects of ministry. By discipling students in this space, Catalina has personally seen the healing power of the Holy Spirit. As someone who finds great purpose and fulfillment teaching the wonders of the Lord, her experience has only furthered her passion to do so through counseling. As a result of these experiences, she is committed to integrating mental health into ministry and coming alongside others in their spiritual journey.
Counseling Experience and Approach:
Catalina obtained her Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from George Fox University, while completing a year long internship as a graduate student intern here at ANLCC, providing low-fee counseling services to the community. She leans into approaches such as Relational therapy and other evidenced based interventions tailored to your specific needs. Clients often find it important to know the background and beliefs of their counselor. As a Christian counselor, Catalina works to incorporate your faith and values to the extent you would like. As a counselor and a person, she endeavors to create a warm environment, facilitate open communication, and provide compassionate care for wherever you are in your life.
